Sting fans at stingisdune.com have announced a new petition for Sting to compose the soundtrack for the impending God Emperor of Dune miniseries.

Surprisingly, when The Imperial Enquirer approached Sting's manager concerning  the soundtrack petition, Sting's manager, Gordon Sumner, reacted positively. "Sting is very interested in becoming involved
in the successful Dune television miniseries franchise," Sumner revealed.
"Sting has always wanted to redeem himself after the the 1984 Dune film debacle."

Manager Sumner revealed that Sting was actually in a David Lynch version of Dune which opened to terrible reviews and even worse box office results.

When asked if it's unusual that such a busy entertainment superstar would be so willing to concede to a fan's petition, Sumner answered, "Not at all. Why would it? Sting actually frequents websites of various genres hoping to be inspired for future projects."

Although Sting's acting success has been limited, Sting has had an extraordinarily successful solo career following his involvement in rock supergroup The Police.

News of Sting's possible miniseries involvement has reached Sting's former bandmembers. Fresh off The Police's reunion concert at the band's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Police drummer Stewart Copeland remarked, "I honestly thought The Police were ready for a reunion album, but it seems Sting is too damn busy with another bloody Dune project."

In our brief conversation, Stewart Copeland implies that Sting's acting role in the 1984 Dune flop was a factor in the band's disolvement. "A factor? It's the only reason," Stewart revealed. "Sting thought he was going to be another bloody Roger Daltrey!"
